I’ve been trying to explain to my friends the value in shopping online for at least the past four years. In order to stay competitive with local retailers that allow consumers to purchase items that can be used that same day (rather than have them shipped), online stores need to offer cheaper prices and higher convenience (duh). If you do all (or most) of your shopping online, saving anywhere from $5-$20 on every purchase you make year round quickly adds up.

While in High School I was hired on as seasonal help to work at Circuit City in their computer, camera, and cellphone sales departments. I understood that their sales volume was much higher during the holidays and that I would be required to work erratic hours as well as the infamous Black Friday. While I knew I was in for some holiday craziness, when that day came nothing could have prepared me for the crystal clear glimpse into human nature that I was about to experience.

Several months ago I wrote about Woot.com and all of its impulse-buying glory (Side Note: There’s a Woot-Off going on right now). Similar to the one-day-one-deal philosophy of Woot is another website that’s far more localized and personal called Groupon.

I’ve been toying around with Yahoo! Answers recently, trying to build up a reputation (and in the process do a little bit of marketing for this website), and in one of the posts I noticed that someone had been locked out of their “Points2Shop” account. Naturally, curiosity got the better of me and so I headed on over the check out www.points2shop.com.
