As the year is quickly drawing to a close and many companies are getting ready to hand out their bonus checks, employees start to wonder just exactly what they are worth. Last year, working as graphic designer for a local free advertising newspaper, my bonus check came out to $14.32 after taxes. With the help of PayScale.com, I now know that was in the lower 1% of all Graphic Designers across the state of Maryland. Thanks again, assholes! I got more than that from my great aunt on my fifth birthday!

As a recent college graduate, I’ve started to notice that I have a little bit of extra money sitting in my savings account. I recently opened a Roth IRA through PNC Bank and put some extra cash in there for retirement. However, while that may be a safe investment for my future, I can’t really touch it until I’m retired. Therefore, I’ve decided that I want to put my money in something a little more risky that I would be able to withdraw whenever I wanted… Unfortunately, I had absolutely no idea what to put it in — until I found this website.
