Mailinator – Eliminate Spam With Free, Instant Email Accounts
As most people return to their daily grind today with their holiday shopping finished and credit card bills looming in the distance, they’re probably extremely busy catching up with all the work they missed while they were away. For those who aren’t, however, it’s time to get back to wasting time online.
As you can see, I did nothing to change the format of this site over the past two weeks (Modern Warfare 2 was of a higher priority) but, as promised, I’m back with a new post today.
Mailinator was introduced to me by my friend, Blake, and was very useful over break. I was doing some online shopping and didn’t want to give my real email address to the site I was buying from. Instead, I just came up with a random email address (like buttsniffer@mailinator.com), gave them that address, and if I ever want to check it all I have to do is visit Mailinator and type in ‘buttsniffer’. There’s no sign up required for Mailinator, no password, and you can use any email address you want. Just understand that anyone else can log in and view the contents of that email as well. The only major drawback of the system that I’ve noticed is that it doesn’t allow for outgoing email, though I understand why they don’t allow it.
So the next time you’re looking to pass off a fake email address, don’t waste time and resources signing up for a new Gmail or Hotmail account, just use Mailinator instead.
